XCP-ng – Starting VM failed
Haven’t you get this error once with your VM on XCP-NG hypervisor?
Tonight I got this error for 2 of my VMs while the other appeared to start without a problem. But why?
Searching on the web brought me to this GitHub page: This operation cannot be performed because the specified virtual disk could not be found.
Here’s what I did to resolve my issue.
While I got this error on my XCP-ng Notifications area:
Then I tried to start another VM and it worked.
The error message was not specific to which virtual disk was missing: 
Normally it is written <Empty> when no disk is selected, as follows 
If your VM storage configuration indicates nothing in DVD Drive 1 field, click Eject and it will now indicate
Try to start your VM. It now won’t generate the same error message.

Avez-vous déjà rencontré cette erreur avec une VM sur XCP-ng?
Ce soir, j’ai rencontré des erreurs pour 2 de mes VMs tandis qu’une troisième a fonctionné sans problème. Pourquoi?

Voici comment j’ai résolu mon problème.
Alors que j’obtenais cette erreur dans la zone de notifications :
J’ai tenté de démarrer une autre machine virtuelle et elle a fonctionné.
Le message d’erreur n’était pas très explicite sur la localisation du problème. J’avais toutefois ceci dans les propriétés de la machine virtuelle :
Normalement, on y retrouve <Empty> lorsqu’aucun DVD n’est sélectionné, comme illustré ci-dessous :
Si jamais vous avez une VM pour laquelle DVD Drive 1 est complètement vide, cliquer sur Eject et dorénavant cela sera indiqué <Empty>.
Essayez de démarrer votre VM. Elle ne génèrera plus de message d’erreur.
